The Tony award-winning San Francisco Mime Troupe has been a Mateel favorite since the early days, and every July they bring to us a new work of satirical, political theater with live musical accompaniment. Never shying away from tough political and social issues, the San Francisco Mime Troupe makes you laugh at the absurdities of contemporary life while highlighting the causes for these absurdities. Past performances have lampooned such controversial topics as the "War on Terror", genetically modified foods, the U.S. health care system, and the gentrification of urban neighborhoods, and many others in their more than 40 year history. Although you never know the issues they will tackle each year, you can rest assured that the San Francisco Mime Troupe will deliver the finest satirical, political theater to be found anywhere.
