Day 1 - Comedy Kick Off...
evening with a Comedy Club featuring comedian, Ngaio (Oon-guy-yo) Bealum who has appeared at just about every Hempfest and cannabis themed event on the West Coast and throughout the world for more than 20 years entertaining with his own brand of high-larious comedy. Bealum has opened for such luminaries as Weird Al, Dave Chappele, Outkast, Cee-lo Green, and The Black Eyed Peas, to name just a few and Mateel is thrilled to have this old friend back by popular demand.
Opening for Bealum will be Cory Robinson whose been doing stand up in the bay area since he was 11 years old, when on a dare from a classmate he performed stand up at his school's local talent show. He went on to win that competition 3 times in 4 years and never looked back. He now performs at comedy clubs all over the bay area and beyond. His comedy deals with issues of race, weight, sex, money, and other aspects of life he finds humorous.
Also opening for Bealum will be D. J. Mervin, who regularly performs at Northern California's best comedy clubs like the Punch Line and Cobb's Comedy Club. His need to have "the most fun" has made him a favorite with audiences around country.

Vendors, speakers, and a wide variety of talented entertainers will be on hand throughout the day. The great music and festivites will include the music of SambaDá, Magic Bronson and more...
Dubbed the West Coast’s hottest Brazilian band by promoters, journalists and fans, Saturday's Hemp Fest headliner SambaDá, musically unites the Americas. Based in the rich musical traditions of Brazil, SambaDá also references salsa and cumbia, and blends them playfully with funk and reggae beats, presenting a unique musical sound with a universal appeal.
Magic Bronson, out of L.A. is bridging the gap between the pounding kick drums of punk rock and the fuzzed out bass of hip hop to create something totally different. With elements of pop, funk, hip, electronic, hop and reggae, this duo, a collaboration between Michael Nicastro, the 6'6" vocalist and guitarist, Matthew Lieberman has garnered the attention of critics and music lovers who are now avid fans. after the Southern CA success of their first single, "What I Did" last year, they are now aligned with War Cry Records and earlier this year, released three new singles, “Shivers”, “Golden", and "Fences". Definitely not to be missed.
A Humboldt County favorite, Yogoman Burning Band, will play Hemp Fest with their irresistible vibe that gets just about anyone in their audience on their feet dancing. It’s a bit of reggae, a bit of soul and a lot of attitude. "Like a junkyard fusion experiment combining the best aspects of the music of Seattle and New Orleans," summed up reviewer, Gabe Johnson of In The Pocket Artists.
Newer pop band, PapaFish, with lead singer, Nancy Rae, brings an undeniable stage presence and an eclectic new pop sound, with influences in reggae, rock, electro-funk, and ska. After winning a contest sponsored by Marley's Music Uprising and SonicBids they've played countless events and shows throughout Southern California. Their high energy shows offer a fresh and progressive take on reggae/rock/ska that keeps the audiences wanting more.
Other bands/troupes on Saturday will include Berel Alexander, Little Kidd Lost, SEED707, 454, and Mark Zachary, plus powerful native music and dance performances by The Round Valley Feather Dancers and The Rockin’ Rubies.
