Coming up in summer 2015, the 39th annual Summer Arts and Music Festival will again offer up the most comprehensive and affordable celebration of art and culture on the North Coast. A favorite celebration to welcome the arrival of summer, the event takes place on the banks of the Eel River at Benbow Lake State Recreation Area and will feature 4+ stages of entertainment with more than 120 performances by acts local to international, more than 150 handmade craft and food booths, an outrageous kid zone, all-media fine arts show, the Generation Green tent, and lots of fun for the whole family.

A down-home celebration of bluegrass & beyond, the annual Humboldt Hoedown will return to the Mateel Community Center in 2015 for it's 11th year! It customarily features a variety of world-class and local performers on two stages, along with vendors, a kid zone, petting zoo, country games, jamming opportunities, a slew of other great local, regional, and world-renowned performers on multiple stages, plus vendors, a kid zone, copious jamming opportunities, and a whole bunch of country fun for the whole family! Doors customarily open at high noon with music til midnight.

What: An Annual Celebration of Cannabis and all things Hemp - featuring various artists, vendors, speakers, and performers.

The festival features a variety of speakers, vendors, and performers sure to extol the many virtues of the hemp plant. Usually open from 11am until late with a suggested donation at the door. Friday traditionally features an evening only comedy kick-off event; Saturday the main all-day event with speakers, dancers, and music; and Sunday an interactive forum with the possibility of an evening entertainment finale.

Celebrate the holidays & support local creative vendors, handcraft artisans, and non-profits!
Usually $5 General Admission at the Door / Free to MCC Members!
Showcasing the diverse wares of more than 50 handcraft artisans, the Winter Arts Faire is southern Humboldt's premier holiday art and craft extravaganza. A great way to welcome the winter months, the annual event takes place in Early December each year features live music by local performers, wintertime food and drink, children's storytelling, and a visit from Santa. The event also serves as a drop off location for Toys For Tots and the Humboldt Food Bank. Open 10am to 6pm both days with Santa dropping in!
