Back for the 19th consecutive year, the annual residency of theMissoula Children’s Theatre is one of the Mateel Community Center’s most beloved ongoing programs. Offering many local youth their first introduction to a lifelong love of theatre, the professional touring company conducts a week-long residency at the Mateel every autumn and this year’s presentation will be an original musical adaptation of Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs. Casting kids in virtually every facet of theatre production, from stagehands to actors and assistant directors, auditions will be held on Monday, October 3rd at the Mateel Community Center in Redway. Auditions begin promptly at 4pm and up to 60 roles are available for students in grades K-12. The program is offered free of charge and selected participants will rehearse after school throughout the week, culminating in a grand performance of the play on Saturday, October 8th.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre presents SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS, an original adaptation of the classic fairy tale.
A young princess named Show White finds herself in peril when her step-mother, Queen Bella, is told by her Magic Mirror that the princess is fairer than she! Aided by her two Henchmen and a band of evil Bats, the Queen plots to get rid of Snow White. Snow White escapes from Queen Bella and from the Black Forest Creatures with help from Witless the Woodsman, and finds a home with the Seven Dwarfs. When Queen Bella learns of Snow White’s whereabouts, she attempts to poison Snow White. But, Queen Bella’s evil plans are thwarted when Snow White’s fearless Forest Friends, her father King Backwards, the Seven Dwarfs and the Prince come to her rescue.
